My name is Lasse Knattrup, and I am a Danish hoola hoop artist. The story about me is the story of a boy who ever since he was 11 years old has been hooked on the world of circus. This fascination I had to integrate into my own life, so I got a hoola hoop ring and started playing with it. Since then I have trained increasingly seriously in order to improve and develop my skills.

     Most people have seen different kinds of hoola hoop acts. For me it is very important that I am not only technically good, but I also aim at challenging the audience with an interesting choreography and presentation. In this connection music plays a very important role, and without any passion the show can never be interesting.

   My hoola hoop show is suitable for many kinds of festive occasions; private parties, sport meetings and discotheques. Hoola hoop acts create a very positive atmosphere, and it is a shot in the arm for any festive occasion. The audiences recall how they as a child played with hoola hoop rings and feel like wanting to try it again.

     Throughout the years I have become increasingly fascinated by circus. Year after year I visit as many circus shows as possible, and I never seem to get enough of the unique circus atmosphere. I identify myself with all the wonderful circus artists, who have dedicated their lives to the circus ring or the stage. Developing the personal skills takes a lot of hard work, but the satisfaction at discovering the possibilities of your body is motivation enough. Circus and hoop dancing is part of my identity; therefore I wish to entertain as many people as possible. My show is a tribute to circus and all the wonderful artists around the world.
